Public holidays by country
Public holidays for 120 countries, 2025 to 2028, with the weekday each one falls on and how many of them land at the weekend.
What a holiday count leaves out
Countries are compared by how many public holidays they have, and the comparison is usually wrong, because the figure quoted counts days on the calendar rather than days away from work. A holiday that falls on a Sunday is not a day off. Every country page here separates the two, and the difference between them moves year to year as the dates walk through the week.

FAQ
Which countries are covered?
120 of the 120 we hold city data for. Where a country is missing it is because the source dataset does not cover it, and we would rather show nothing than invent a calendar.
Are regional holidays included?
No. National public holidays only. Regional days, and observances that are not days off, are excluded.
Why does the weekend count matter?
A holiday total is the number people quote and not the number they feel. A public holiday on a Saturday is a day off you already had, so every country page separates the two.
